The Time It Takes to Be Aware

Measuring how you spend your time can really change how your brain works. I started using a stopwatch to see how long my morning routine takes.

This includes simple things like brushing my teeth, showering, and getting ready. By timing these tasks, I now know exactly how long my morning routine is.

You can do the same for household chores when you get home. Use a stopwatch for a few days to find out the average time each task takes.

This helps with time management because your brain starts to understand how long things really take.

For example, if you plan to watch Netflix for two hours and then go to bed, your brain will remind you if you don’t have enough time left for other tasks.

This isn’t about using techniques like the Pomodoro method; it’s just about being aware of how long things take.

Over time, this practice has helped me be more patient with tasks. I know the average time they take, which helps me decide whether to start something or leave it for another day.

Time management is crucial, but being aware of how you spend your time is even more important.
